Everyone gets lost from time to time on this path we call life. In fact, it is a normal experience of life. When we get lost, we need to find ourselves again and find a direction in life. We need to find purpose and motivation for life. Without purpose, life can seem quite meaningless.
How does one find purpose? Purpose comes from two sources. One is having goals and aspiration for ourselves on the path of life. The second comes from our relationships. If we have no one to share our purpose with, our goals and aspirations have no meaning. We need connections to other humans in life to keep us moving through all the chaos of the world. Remember that unfortunately not all connections are meant to be in our lives and some relationships can take away our purpose instead of give us purpose (More on this later).

So get out a blank sheet of paper or get yourself a journal. On the top of the paper write:
Who am I?
Now start making a list of roles, hobbies, skills, qualities you have, accomplishments etc.
For example here is a partial list of who I am:
- Daughter
- Granddaughter
- Woman
- Niece
- Aunt
- Sister
- Blessed to be carrying the precious gift of life and soon to be first time mom
- Lover
- Traveler
- Friend
- Confidant
- Therapist
- Masters Degree holder
- Volleyball player
- Humorist
- Photographer
- Christian
- Organizer
- Leader
- Crafter
- Baker
- Cook
- Camper
- Hiker
....Well you get the idea. My list could go on and on.
If your list seems too short, add a list of things you would like to be or things you would like to learn. Now with each of these things, where do you get connections? Where do you get purpose? Where do you get motivation? Where do you get accountability? Where do you get a rewarding, positive feeling out of doing these things? Who can you share in these activities with or share the work of your investments in these activities with? Who makes you feel good about these things? These are the relationships to cultivate or the relationships to grow.
