Meet Megan Johnson, LPCC
Hi, I’m Megan!
I graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I grew up in a rural Minnesota farming community and learned very quickly that we (as individuals and a community) didn’t/don’t talk about mental health nearly enough. Bringing mental health services to rural communities has become a passion of mine, to support people in changing their life in ways that they may not even think is possible. I understand that addressing your mental health can be uncomfortable and want to make therapy an open, comforting, and positive experience, even when it may be very difficult. Let’s walk through your challenges, whatever they may be, together.
I enjoy traveling, trying new things, cooking, crafting, sunny days on the lake, a good cup of coffee, and naps.
My Therapy Philosophy
I incorporate trauma-informed, cognitive behavioral, and solution-focused interventions as well as mindfulness, behavioral, and positive parenting strategies within my clinical approach. I am a believer in making therapy a comfortable space to honor and challenge one’s thoughts and emotions while acknowledging things both in and out of our personal control. I focus my clinical services on individuals from age 10 to age 30, although am happy to support individuals age 10 and up.
