Meet Megan Johnson, LPCC
Hi, I'm Megan!

I know that reaching out for help can be uncomfortable—especially if you come from a place where
people don't often talk about mental health.

I get it. I grew up in a rural Minnesota farming community and saw firsthand how many people
struggle in silence. That's why I'm so passionate about making therapy a safe, comforting, and
positive experience for you. My goal is to support you in changing your life in ways you may not even
think are possible. I want to create a space where you feel truly heard and understood, even when
things are difficult. Whatever challenges you're facing, we will walk through them together.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and hold a Master’s Degree in
Rehabilitation Counseling. I have been supporting clients in the mental health field since 2018.

When I'm not in session, I enjoy traveling, trying new things, cooking, crafting, fishing, sunny days on
the lake, a good cup of coffee, and naps.

My Therapy Philosophy
I believe therapy should be a comfortable space where you can be yourself. My priority is to create a supportive environment where we can honor your feelings while also challenging the thoughts and patterns that are holding you back. We will focus on what's in your control and find healthy ways to cope with what isn't.

I believe in treating the whole person by emphasizing the connection between your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being rather than just focusing on symptoms. To help you reach your goals, I use a blend of proven methods. We will work to find practical solutions that build on your strengths, explore how your thoughts affect your feelings and actions (CBT), learn skills to manage powerful emotions and improve relationships (drawing from DBT), and use mindfulness techniques to help you feel calmer and more present.

My approach is trauma-informed, meaning I am dedicated to creating a safe space that recognizes the impact of past experiences. I am particularly passionate about working with individuals who are healing from the effects of narcissistic abuse, as well as those who identify as "people pleasers" and are learning to set and maintain healthy boundaries. I also have extensive experience and a special interest in supporting individuals from rural and farming communities. I am committed to making therapy an approachable, stigma-free process, especially for those who have never recognized or talked about their mental health.

I specialize in working with teens and young adults, but I welcome clients of all ages 13 and up.
