Meet  Brittany Hamann, PsyD, LPCC

Clinical Supervisor

Hello, I am Brittany. I have experience working alongside people across the lifespan. As a Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy approved clinical supervisor, my doctoral research specialized in clinical supervision and promoting the growth of clinical trainees. I am honored to be a part of the valuable experiences that occur in therapy that builds insight and confidence in knowing yourself.

My Therapy Philosophy

To me, therapy is all about learning new options. It starts with a little bit of an open mind and some willingness to try new things. Learning new options about yourself, how to process the world around you, and learning new ways to navigate the curveballs of life are what therapy is all about. I think of therapy a bit like going to a restaurant. Imagine going to the same restaurant and ordering the same dish for many years, never knowing there was another option. Then, a person you connect with and trust tells you about a new dish and you try it, only to discover you like it. Perhaps that new dish becomes a beloved favorite. Then, that leads to trying a new restaurant and even more dishes, dabbling into all kinds of new and flavorful options opening your mind and heart to new incredible options. Therapy teaches us about ourselves and alternative ways to think, feel, and be that make sense to each of us as individuals. This has the capacity to promote lifelong change.

As a professional, I believe that change, betterment, and growth is achievable. We are not meant to experience the world alone, yet we often expect ourselves to “work through” stressors like a solo mission. Therapy is a safe, confidential, and supportive way to learn and experience awareness of who you are as a beautiful and intelligent person. I find it a deep and true honor to join people on their missions for change.

I’ve worked with all ages; from conducting developmental assessments for infant children to the geriatric population navigating adjustment. I have experience as a clinician in every step of the mental health care system from inpatient psychiatric hospitalization settings to short term, as needed periodic therapy sessions. I truly respect and enjoy what happens in the therapy experiences and believe all people deserve the opportunity to learn ways to achieve the mindset they desire.
